This powdered trap dye turns black when mixed with boiling water and gives the traps a deep red color that is very black in color.
Instructions:
In a container large enough to cover the amount of traps you want to treat, add 1 pound of logwood per 4 to 5 gallons of already boiling water and simmer for 1 to 2 hours. Add water as needed to keep the traps completely covered. Remove traps, hang to dry. Can be used on all steel traps.
The use of a wax, preferably based on beeswax, is recommended in such a trap treatment process.
