Warranty Policy – Pièges Ouell

 

1. Legal Warranty

 

In accordance with the laws in force in Québec and Canada, all products sold by Pièges Ouell are covered by the following legal warranties, at no cost to the consumer:

  • Normal use warranty: the product must be suitable for its intended use.
  • Reasonable durability warranty: the product must function for a reasonable period of time, based on the price paid, usage conditions, and representations made.
  • Warranty against hidden defects: the product must not contain significant defects that were not visible at the time of purchase.

These warranties apply automatically, even if they are not mentioned in the contract or on the invoice.


2. Contractual Warranty – Pièges Ouell

 

All Products

Pièges Ouell offers a contractual warranty against manufacturing defects for a period of 30 days following the date of purchase.


Pièges Ouell 3-10 and 4-11

  • 30-day manufacturing defect warranty.
  • Additional 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects for the original purchaser, upon presentation of the invoice.
  • Return shipping costs for the defective product and shipping costs for the replacement product are the responsibility of the customer.

Rudy Traps (models 110, 120, 120 Mag, 160+, 220, 220+, 280, 330)

  • 30-day manufacturing defect warranty.
  • Lifetime warranty against frame deformation caused by impact with an animal, for the original purchaser, upon presentation of the invoice.
  • Deformation caused by impact with objects other than animals (e.g., wood, rocks) is excluded.
  • Return shipping costs and replacement product shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

3. Distributed Products (not manufactured by Pièges Ouell)

These products are only covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Pièges Ouell does not offer any additional warranty.

  • Warranty claims may be submitted to Pièges Ouell, who will forward them to the manufacturer.
  • The decision to accept or deny the warranty claim rests solely with the manufacturer.

4. Products Sensitive to Freezing

Certain products such as:

  • Liquid dye Prodip or Speed Dip
  • Urine, anise, or any other product that may freeze

are not covered by warranty if damage is caused by freezing:

  • During shipping from our warehouse to the customer.
  • After receipt, during storage by the customer.

It is the customer's responsibility to take necessary precautions to prevent exposure to freezing temperatures.


5. Exclusions and Limitations

Pièges Ouell reserves the right to refuse warranty coverage in the following cases:

  • Absence of the original invoice.
  • Improper use of the product.
  • Damage caused by external conditions, such as:
    • Excessive heat.
    • Use in corrosive environments (e.g., salted roads, chemical exposure).
    • Unauthorized modifications to the product.

6. Claim Procedure

To make a warranty claim:

  1. Contact our customer service with your invoice and a description of the issue.
  2. If the warranty applies, you will receive instructions for returning the product.
  3. Once the product is inspected, we will proceed with repair, replacement, or refund, as applicable.

7. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the Federal consumer protection laws of Canada.
